About the Building

Designed by starchitect Renzo Piano, with interiors by Rena Dumas, and landscape design by West 8, a team of design stars was brought together to create this ultra-luxury tower in Miami Beach’s quaint North Beach neighborhood on the cusp of Surfside. The 18-story, 70 unit boutique project is located on the edge of the North Beach Open Space Park, which is also being redesigned and upgraded, in coordination with the tower. Exploring Eighty Seven Park, the connection between the building and the park is impossible to ignore, with the tower’s ground-floor landscaping seamlessly connecting with that of the park. The mass of Eighty Seven Park itself was designed to convey the impression of the structure floating above that lush greensward, in a Jetsonian-like future.

The glass-enclosed lobby wraps around the elevator cores and is itself surrounded by a shallow, moat-like water feature that passively cools the structure. The lobby contains the reception area and concierge, an airy lounge space with modernist furnishings set among potted palms, and an Enoteca bar with botanically-inspired drinks and cocktails for residents. Long library bookshelves feature a selection of artistically curated books and magazines as well as corals, pieces of burl wood, and other natural specimens placed carefully throughout.

Behind the tower, the grand promenade to the ocean is flanked by twin pools, both huge rectangles, which themselves are flanked by cabanas and gardens. A fugo, or fruit juice, bar sits among the gardens. Inside, cars disappear into an underground garage, a basement spa offers a huge hammam, as well as a sauna, steam room, and private treatment rooms, while the second-floor gym overlooks the park and gardens.

Residence interiors are open and airy, with American oak, and Italian stone finishes, floor-to-ceiling glass walls, and deep wrap-around terraces. Views are spectacular from every unit. Verdant parkland surroundings and spectacular wide-open views to the east, south, and west mean your vista will never be blocked. Meanwhile, Eighty Seven Park is higher than the oceanfront residential towers to the north, ensuring forever open northern views on many of the higher floors.

Nearby, you’ll find the fantastic Surf Club Restaurant by Thomas Keller, in the historic Surf Club Four Seasons. In the nearby Bal Harbour Shops, in addition to world-class shopping, Makoto and Hillstone’s are always two solid bets for a great meal. Behind Eighty Seven Park, Miami Beach’s sublime beach walk is an oceanfront promenade that runs for miles, from the tip of South Beach all the way to Bal Harbour.
